| | Dear Road Wizard: Please ask the contractor working on Meridian Road (Franklin Road to Interstate-84) to place a yield sign to drivers merging after exiting I-84. | | During construction, ACHD approves traffic control plans during each phase of work, and the contractor follows up. When the off-ramp people lost their lane, a sign did tell them to YIELD.
But the sign was on stilts, and windy weather kept blowing it down or moving it, so ACHD asked the contractor set it up on a permanent post and stick orange flags on it. And make it big: 48 inches.
Off-ramp traffic can see it reliably now. If they act like they don't, they have no excuses. Your job, of course, is to drive defensively. Collisions caused by illegal behavior wreck your car and your day just the same.
