Purple Sage/Beacon Light Alignment Study Report
Staff Report
Background
- The need for the Purple Sage/Beacon Light connection was identified in the April 2006 draft of the Communities in Motion (CIM) long-range transportation plan for Ada and Canyon counties as a potential congestion reliever for SH 44 in the future.
- CIM proposed three improvements to the Purple Sage/Beacon Light corridor between I-84 and SH 55:
- Widen Beacon Light from SH 55 to SH 16 to four/five lanes.
- Connect Purple Sage and Beacon Light.
- Widen Purple Sage to three lanes from the proposed connection to I-84.
Communities in Motion (CIM)
- CIM is the long-range transportation plan developed by the Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS) to address transportation issues expected in the next twenty or more years.
