South Meridian Transportation Plan

General Description

As the fastest growing city in the state, Meridian is a great place to live and work. The population has grown from about 9,000 in 1990 to nearly 67,000 in 2006. Forecasts indicate similar growth in upcoming years, and considerable growth will likely occur in South Meridian. As a result, there is an increasing demand on the area’s transportation system.

In order to plan for future growth in the South Meridian area, the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) launched the South Meridian Transportation Plan in September to identify roadway, intersection, bridge and corridor improvements. The plan will also investigate alternative transportation solutions including pedestrian and bicycle pathways.  The ACHD Commission adopted the plan on Wednesday May 27, 2009.
